December 2nd, 2018, Mumbai: The vibrant festival of the suburbs, Malad Masti 2018, kick-started with great enthusiasm and frenzy. The third edition of this fantastic festival witnessed an enormous congregation. The venue, Mindspace back road (1.5 km stretch running parallel to the creek) of Malad was beaming with beautiful smiles and endless laughter.

This year the festival began on a much higher note and proved to be a melting point for all visitors through interesting activities which owed to give unparalleled entertainment and merriment.

  

The theme for this year revolves around ‘Malnutrition’ and takes health as a prime subject of emphasis and preachment.

Malad Masti is an initiative by MLA, Mr. Aslam Shaikh and ALM (Advanced Locality Management) Mindspace Malad, in association with Vision Foundation, an NGO designed especially for Mumbaikars to give them an opportunity to engage in various activities with their loved ones and have unblemished joy. The festival is open for one and all and is free.

It was a star-studded affair (Playback Singer- Abhijeet Sawant, Health Guru- Dr. Mickey Mehta, Actress & Singer- Deepshikha Nagpal, Comedy King- Raju Srivastav, Actor & Comedian- Krishna Abhishek, Miss India 2013- Simran Ahuja, Sangram Chougule- Mr. Universe, Bollywood Playback Singer- Shahid Mallya, Singer- Gwen Dias, Actress & Model- Puja Banerjee).

“This year our sole purpose is to take the festival a notch higher than the previous year. The schedule has been crafted in a way that every age group has something exclusively dedicated and arranged for their entertainment. The response for the first day has been overwhelming. We hope the rich diversity of events attracts more audiences from across the city. We are excited to host more people in the forthcoming Sundays”, said MLA, Mr. Aslam Shaikh.

The key highlights for the day were Yoga and fitness session by Mickey Mehta, people grooved to the songs of Abhijeet Sawant and Gwen Dias, laughter riot with Raju Srivastav and Krushna Abhishek.

Over 70 activities have been planned and sketched during the four Sundays. Kickboxing, Zumba, Talent hunt, High speed Garba, World of Children for small children, Robotics, Dance, Football, Chess, Nail Art, Mehendi Art, Adventure camp, Benefit Square, an NGO for special kids, Brahmakumari, Drum Circle, Breast Cancer awareness, Eye check-up camp, Bollywood dhamaka and Lagori for 60 plus age group. Children, parents, youth and the elderly were seen participating in exhilaration. These events brought to light the talents of the residents. It proved to be an arena for exhibiting skills, performing with might, grooving in fun and encouraging the spirits of the participants on stage.

The Malad Masti street festival is designed to have the maximum involvement of all residents in jointly ensuring its management and success to promote unity and involvement in active betterment of the area”, said Mr. Shazad Rustomji, Chairman, ALM Mindspace Malad.

Malad Masti is an initiative by MLA, Mr. Aslam Shaikh to help people of Mumbai reclaim streets. The Mindspace area is a beehive of creativity and outdoor activities, with active participation of the residents.
